Captain Cluck, a white cartoon chicken in a red cape, flying

The story

Cluckworth Farm is under siege. Sly foxes in the barnyard, wolves in the woods, and the Hawk King circling overhead. The other chickens hid. One did not.

You play as Captain Cluck. Tap to beat your wings and stay airborne, eat everything you can reach to charge the Super meter, and pick your moment. Fill the meter and Captain Cluck goes SUPER: invincible, and briefly unstoppable.

Eleven regions stand between the barnyard and the sea, and something is waiting at the end of each one.

Eleven regions

A winding map runs from the Barnyard out to Cluckworth Cove. Each region has its own look, its own weather and its own infestation to clear before the road opens up.

  • Barnyard
  • Henhouse Hills
  • Rickety Barn
  • Deep Woods
  • Sky Ranch
  • Moonlit Meadow
  • Raccoon Hollow
  • Coyote Canyon
  • Snakeweed Gulch
  • Grizzly Ridge
  • Cluckworth Cove

Eleven bosses

The Sly Fox. The Weasel. The Barn Rat King. The Big Bad Wolf. The Hawk King. Right through to the Land Shark that walks out of the sea on legs. Every boss attacks differently, with its own tell to read and its own opening to punish.

Forty-five cosmetics

Corn piles up while you fly, and the Shop turns it into 26 capes and 19 Super styles. Cow Print, Farm Plaid, Fireball, Cosmic, and eventually the Rainbow if you put in the miles. Every one is earned by playing.

Three difficulties

Easy is forgiving enough for a five-year-old and cannot be lost. Normal is the real adventure. Hero stretches the levels out and makes the bosses genuinely mean. There is also Barnyard Blitz, an endless mode with its own high scores.

No catches

No ads interrupting a run. No shop that wants your card. No account to make. Plays fine with no signal.

Common questions

Does it have ads?

No. There is no advertising anywhere in the game.

Are there in-app purchases?

No. Capes and Super styles are unlocked by playing and earning corn. There is nothing to buy inside the app, so nobody can spend money by accident.

Does it need an internet connection?

No. The whole game plays offline, start to finish.

Do you collect any data?

No. No accounts, no sign-ups, no analytics, no tracking. Progress is saved on your own device. On iPhone and iPad you can optionally turn on iCloud sync, which carries your progress between your own devices through your own iCloud account — it never reaches us. The privacy policy spells it out.

What age is it for?

Easy mode works for younger children, Normal is the standard game, and Hero mode will give most adults some trouble. There is nothing frightening in it: predators puff away in a cloud of feathers rather than anything worse.

When can I play it?

Not yet — it is still in development. There is no mailing list to join and nothing to sign up for. This page will carry the store links the day there are any.
